UPF 50 Hats with Sun Protection from Village Hats
This section has outdoor hats with a protection of UPF 50+. What is UPF 50? UPF is short for Ultraviolet Protection Factor. It is the ratio of the average effective ultraviolet radiation (UVR) irradiance transmitted and calculated through air to the average effective UVR irradiance transmitted and calculated through fabric. In normal English, it is the amount of ultraviolet radiation that a fabric blocks. Hence UPF values are used in the Fabric's UV transmittance test by spectrophotometer equipment. Well every hat on this page has a UPF rating of 50 or more. and according to many studies, UPF ratings of 40 to 50+, can block 97.5% to 99% UV radiation. So if you love the outdoors and plan on spending a lot of time there - wear a hat!
