AMC CERTIFIES TILLEY HATS April, 2001-Toronto----Tilley Hats received official certification of providing excellent ultraviolet protection by the AMC Cancer Research Center. The AMC certified that all Tilley Hats block 98 percent of the harmful UVA/UVB rays and deliver an Ultraviolet Protection Factor of 50+, the maximum rating given. The sun certification rating from AMC--an independent, not-for-profit institution--covers all the Tilley Hats made from 10-ounce cotton duck, and the lighter weight LT3 and LT5 made from Supplex nylon. As a result of this testing, Tilley Endurables has joined the American Sun Protection Association, a not-for-profit organization of manufacturers, importers and distributors of sun-protection products.
